Best network setupPosted on: 2017-12-18 22:44:22]
I have a satellite connection to the Australian National Broadband Network (max 25mps) but the router is in the shed in which we lived while the house was being built. It's about 70metres away. I ran coaxial cables (4), ethernet cables (2), and telephone cables (2) underground between the shed and the house.
The WiFi signal from the router in the shed is available in the house, but is very weak.
I have connected a router in the house directly to the router in the shed via ethernet and established a second network in the house. It works, but it's frustratingly slow, and the router in the house gets very hot.
Would you recommend a bigger router in the house, or a WiFi extender to make the internet better in the house?
